CityNews – The government has begun making the first payments of its new low-income welfare benefits, starting December 13, with up to 3,000 baht a month in benefits for low-earners or the unemployed.
The new policy offers a monthly payment of 3,000 baht in state funding for those earning less than 30,000 baht a year, and 1,500 baht for those who earn less than 100,000 baht but more than 30,000 baht per year.
Those who can apply must be aged 18 or older, hold Thai nationality, and are unemployed or have yearly earnings within the threshold.
The first registration period was between July and August, with another expected in February or March.
