Faculty of Medicine, CMU opens a surgical simulation training centre, the first ever in the northern region.

CityNews – The surgical simulation training centre was officially opened on September 11th at the Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University.

Special Expert Professor Bannakij Lojanapiwat, M.D., dean of the faculty stated that this is the first ever centre in the north of Thailand which will be used to advance the efficiency of medical staff, both students and residents. The centre was initiated in 2018 with the aim to enhance the competency of the faculty and Maharaj Hospital.

The centre was built to meet international standards and is able to hold training courses with participants up to 50 people. In addition to a simulation training set, the centre also consists of eight sets of laparoscopic surgery, two sets of gastroscopy and a set of microscope. The faculty is expecting the centre to welcome over a hundred trainers a year.
