Dhara Dhevi Resort’s plan for redevelopment unaffected following fire

The management of the beleaguered Dhara Dhevi Resort held a press conference this weekend to discuss matters resort, after rumours swirled across the city following last month’s devastating fire.
The spa, according to management, had been closed for six years was burnt down, including all of its seven buildings, on the 23rd April. He went on to say that it was an unnatural fire, as there was  the time no electricity that ran in the spa area.

The damage was around 5%-10% of the value of the resort, he explained, and since the resort had no immediate plans to use the spa in the future, it will not affect current plans for the resort.

He went on to say that the new owners had every intention of renovating and bringing the resort back to life, but it would be a long term project. For now, they are happy to continue to run the monthly Kad Dhara market at the end of each month.
