Young participants from across Chiang Mai showcased their talents and local pride during a special competition promoting the unique products, culture and attractions of all 25 districts of the province.

The Bao Noi–Sao Noi La-on Chiang Mai competition was held on 1st August 2026 at the first-floor activity area of Robinson Department Store Chiang Mai. The contest featured two age categories, four to nine years old and ten to 14 years old, and formed part of the fourth annual Bao Ji–Sao Ji Chiang Mai competition.

Representing districts from across the province, the young contestants presented local highlights through traditional costumes, performances and creative presentations, helping to promote Chiang Mai’s tourism, cuisine, clothing and distinctive community products.

The event was organised by Songkran Panyadee, who launched the initiative in 2023 to encourage young people to learn more about their home districts and take part in promoting Chiang Mai’s cultural heritage. The project has received an increasingly positive response, with growing numbers of young participants and spectators each year.

This year’s programme is the largest to date, featuring competitions for children, teenagers and young adults.

The senior categories — Bao Ji, Sao Ji and Ai Bao Chiang Mai — will take place on Sunday, 2nd August 2026. Contestants will present the highlights of their respective districts through district-inspired costumes, catwalk presentations, question-and-answer sessions and promotional video clips.

This year’s winners will also receive trophies presented by the Governor of Chiang Mai Province.

Members of the public are invited to support the young contestants and attend the final round from 2pm onwards on 2nd August at the first-floor activity area of Robinson Department Store Chiang Mai.

Further updates and competition highlights are available on the Bao Ji–Sao Ji Chiang Mai Facebook page.
