It has been two days since ten geese were released by the moat to help eat the unwanted vegetation and provide a lovely new attraction to the city.

With pens built to house them at night and a team from the municipality monitoring their wellbeing by day, the feedback to date has been full of praise.

40,000 tilapia will also be released in the moat next week, said the municipality. To improve the quality of water in the moat.

There were pictures shared on social media last night of the flock of geese on the road, but the municipality said that the photos were taken as the geese were being herded back to their pen at night. Apart from the pen by the moat, another pen is currently being build on the water as another housing option for the geese.
