Chiang Mai has raised its alert level and stepped up preparations for heavy rain, flash flooding and mudslides as storm “Mysak” approaches, with officials monitoring the situation and putting machinery, equipment and personnel on standby around the clock.

Governor Rathapol Naradisorn has instructed district chiefs across all 25 districts along with local administrative organisations and relevant agencies to monitor high-risk areas prone to flash flooding, standing water and mudslides as a result of storm Mysak from 3rd to 6th July 2026.

Officials have also been directed to warn residents and tourists in at-risk areas so they can track conditions and evacuate promptly, along with maintaining round-the-clock monitoring staff in vulnerable zones. Local administrative organisations and community leaders have been asked to survey and prepare temporary shelters for those affected, stocked with sufficient food, drinking water and essential supplies in case evacuation becomes necessary.
