Yesterday evening (12th May), staff from the Chiang Mai Ruam Katanyu Foundation Volunteer Coordination Centre rushed to the rescue of Bai Boon, a beloved buffalo, after she fell into a concrete drainage canal approximately two metres deep in Pa Daet subdistrict, and was unable to climb out unaided.
After working at the rescue for some time, staff and volunteers successfully lifted Bai Boon from the canal using ropes, to the immense relief of her owner and the villagers who had come to help. She was found to be mildly fatigued but had sustained no serious injuries.
