Anantara Chiang Mai Resort celebrates Negroni Week 2026 from 21–27 September 2026 with a collection of six original Negroni-inspired cocktails, bringing the flavours, landmarks and stories of Chiang Mai’s Ping River to the glass.
Under the theme “From Italy to Lanna. One river, six stories.”, the collection draws inspiration from six landmarks along the Ping River, bringing together Italian aperitivo culture with the flavours and character of Chiang Mai. The cocktails will be served at Brit Bar and The Service at 1921 House, Bodhi Terrace, Pool Bar and JAO Ping River Cruise.
The collection begins with Negroni Long Muan, inspired by Long Muan Pier, the resort’s private pier, combining gin, Campari and vermouth with makwan cordial and Chiang Mai longan honey. Khua Lek Ferro takes its cue from the historic Iron Bridge, or Khua Lek, visible from the resort, with tequila, mezcal and smoked orange. Nawarat Rosso, inspired by nearby Nawarat Bridge, adds a refreshing note of grapefruit.
Further along the Ping River, Kad Luang Mercato draws inspiration from Warorot Market, or Kad Luang, a landmark marketplace established in 1910 and known for its wide array of local food, produce and souvenirs. The cocktail brings together Noom chilli, pink guava, Campari and tamarind. Wat Ket Giardino reflects Wat Ket, one of Chiang Mai’s historic riverside communities, through pineapple and Thai basil, while Pagoda Bianca takes inspiration from the distinctive White Pagoda, or Chedi Kio, a riverside landmark near Chiang Mai Municipality, combining gin, lamduan syrup, Bianco Bitter and yuzu cordial.
Guests can also take Negroni Week onto the Ping River with two special dinner cruises. The Dibba Yana Chitta dinner cruise, aboard the golden art boat designed by celebrated Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, sails from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm and features a seven-course Thai menu by Michelin-starred Chef Boy Piyachart Puttawong of Saneh Jaan, Bangkok. The cruise is priced at THB 6,999++ per person or THB 13,998++ per couple, with an optional Negroni cocktail pairing from THB 1,288++ per person.
Alternatively, the Nam Jit sunset dinner cruise, aboard a traditional flat-bottomed teak boat, sails from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and features a four-course Thai dinner priced at THB 2,400++ per person or THB 4,800++ per couple. Guests may add free-flow Negroni cocktails from THB 1,388++ per person.
Founded by Imbibe Magazine in 2013, Negroni Week brings together bars and restaurants around the world to celebrate the iconic cocktail while raising funds for charitable causes. Since 2022, Slow Food has served as its official global giving partner, supporting community-led projects that promote more sustainable and equitable food and beverage systems.
From 1921 House, the century-old teak building on the former British Consulate grounds, to an evening cruise along the Ping River, Negroni Week at Anantara Chiang Mai Resort invites guests to discover another side of Chiang Mai through the stories behind each cocktail.
