All systems go, says Irrigation Department

The director of the Irrigation Department has told CityNews that the Chiang Mai and Lamphun irrigation management is currently in good order, following a thorough inspection. All weirs and equipment as well as personnel are ready for action and all systems are go.

Canals have been cleared of water clogging materials such as weeds, branches and rubbish and all buildings and equipments have been inspected and updated while all personnel have been trained and know their duties, he said.

The water levels at Pa Daed is currently at 50cm, far below any levels that will lead to floods.

All streams and canals running into the more major waterways have also been unclogged and cleared to take on more water.
