In spite of the season’s last surprise heavy rains and fog which covered Doi Inthanon this morning, visitors still arrived for the reopening of the Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail, closed for five months for ecological recovery. The trail officially reopened under the direction of Kritsiyam Kongsatri, head of the 16th Office of Protected Area Management.

Kew Mae Pan sits 2,157 metres above sea level, stretches 3.2 kilometres, and takes about two to three hours to complete. The temperature was recorded at 14°C.

During the previous tourist season (Nov 2024–May 2025), the trail welcomed 123,776 visitors — 80,950 Thai and 42,826 foreign tourists. For the 2025–26 season, 328 local guides, including 111 youth guides, have been appointed to assist tourists and ensure safety. The trail opens annually from November to May and remains one of Thailand’s most visited and well-preserved nature routes.
