Over 26,000 dengue cases recorded in Thailand in five months!

CityNews – Recorded dengue cases nearly double of 2018.

According a 5 June report from the Department of Disease Control (DDC), there have been 26,430 cases of dengue in just over five months with 41 fatalities. This is 1.8 times the rate of 2018 for the same time period.

The DDC reveals that the southern region has the highest rate (46.78 per 100,000 people) followed by central, north-eastern and the northern region. The highest number of patients are between 5 and 14 years old.

Of the 2,885 cases recorded in the northern region, 240 are from people in Chiang Mai but so far, without reported fatalities.
