Monks at Wat Chedi Luang, together with devoted villagers, unloaded 20 tons of green pumpkins and fresh vegetables from trucks and brought them to the grounds of Phra That Chedi for free distribution to the locals. This charitable act was carried out in honor of the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother. It was also a gesture of loyalty and gratitude toward Her Majesty, intended to inspire public participation in community service and strengthen social unity.
Phra Kru Aod, from Wat Chedi Luang, along with Por Nhan La Omkoi, a Karen community leader in Omkoi District organized fundraising efforts to purchase the vegetables with the aim to support farmers in Omkoi who have been affected by falling produce prices. The distributed vegetables helped local families reduce their household expenses.
In addition, Wat Chedi Luang has prepared 200 sacks of cucumbers and over 8 tons of limes to be delivered to people living in the highlands. These items will be used as essential ingredients in daily meals and will help improve nutrition for those in remote areas.
