CityNews – June 9th, a 12-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy were arrested after police found drugs in their bag. The bus from Mae Sai was stopped at the police check point on its way to Bangkok and during a routine search the police saw that the two were acting in a suspicious manner. Following a search of their bags, the police discovered two bags of drugs each consisting of 50 bundles of amphetamine of approximately 20,000 tables. A further 100,000 tablets of ‘ice’ drugs weighing 350 grams was also discovered.
Initially, police made inquiries and discovered that the boys had been hired by someone else. They were ordered to collect two bags in Chiang Rai and take them to the Morchit bus terminal in Bangkok. They were told that they would be paid 150,000 baht, of which they had already received 4,000 baht.
The boys were arrested for drug possession (Category 1: Methamphetamine and drugs) and brought to prosecution as a juvenile. The police officers are looking for the man who hired these boys.
