Book Re:public
Bookshops have been popping up all over Chiang Mai lately, and though they might not be labyrinths packed with everything an avid reader might want, they are certainly cozy, and also great places to sit and relax in with a snack and some coffee. English language books, though in a minority, are always available.
• Ranlao Bookshop: small bookshop, located on Nimmanhaemin Road. Cozy and quiet, great place to read with a cup of coffee. Good service, and offers a good membership deal.

• Librarista: this is a combination of a library and a barista. Modern style library where you can drink tasty coffee. The books are in English and Thai; they can be borrowed, and the shop allows you to take food inside.

• C.A.M.P.: Creative Ang Meeting Place! Spacious, modern, and open 24/7!! Free wifi, and already really popular with students! Located in Maya lifestyle shopping centre opposite the cinema. If you can’t sleep at 4 a.m. this place might not be a bad place to hang-out at.

• Book Re:public : this is not only a bookshop with a coffee shop but also a public area where people can meet up and discuss life in Thailand. Political talk here can get a little subversive…not surprising really as Orwell and Marx seem to have filled many spaces in the shop. English and Thai books. They also have regular speakers, in Thai and English. A place not to miss!@water Canal road. https://th-th.facebook.com/BookRepublicChiangMai
• The Booksmith: small bookshop with many English books. Main focus is on art and design, but there are also magazines. @Nimmanhaemin Road 3. https://www.facebook.com/thebooksmithbookshop
