CityNews – Low-cost airline Nok Air has decided to cancel its daily flight to Mae Hong Son from Chiang Mai, which was previously scheduled for three times a day. It was later changed to just one flight per day, which will be completely shut down at the end of March.
Thai Airways had flown the route before Nok Air took its place offering flights to Mae Hong Son from Chiang Mai. Now that Nok Air has also abandoned the flights, the President of the Mae Hong Son Tourism Council, Mr. Supoj Klinpraneet, is concerned about the effects of the situation on the region’s business and tourism. The Council has been receiving numerous complaints from the public who are also worried about the loss of revenue the cancelled service will cause.
For now, Kan Air is the only airline offering flights from Chiang Mai to Pai.
