Nigerian Scammer Arrested

CityNews – Victims have lost over a million baht to a Nigerian scammer.

Police have been tracking down a suspect who is known as DC, 32. He arrived in Bangkok under a student visa in 2012. Since then he has been in and out of Thailand. He is also in a relationship with Kasinun Promnasjinda, 28, who is based in Bangkok. The Nigerian suspect used multiple fake Facebook accounts as points of contact. The victims would be led to believe that he would transport a millions dollars of goods they purchased but they needed to pay the tax fee before the delivery process started. His girlfriend was tasked with managing the transactions.

The arrest was issued by Provincial Police Region 5 in Chiang Mai on January 24th at a resident on Ramkhamhaeng Road, Min Buri, Bangkok. Four people have been arrested including DC and his Thai girlfriend. The investigation has revealed that there are 18 people in this gang.
