CityNews – A students brawl erupted at a pub due to jealously.
On the night of December 15th at a pub near Jing Jai Market, Chang Phueak, a group of five young men assaulted a man. The attackers are all in their 20s, studying at a university in Chiang Mai. A 21 year old student from Bangkok was visiting Chiang Mai with friends and ran into two young women who were reportedly an old acquaintance at the pub. The attackers reportedly misinterpreted their association with the women, which led to the assault. The incident was video recorded by a friend of the injured man which was turned in as evidence afterwards. The five men were under the influence of alcohol.
