Miss Samorn was found in the bathroom of a hotel room in Chiang Mai with a severely bruised face and injuries to her chest and was sodomised by a bottle.

She died from internal bleeding.
Earlier today, Chiang Mai police arrested the man they believed to have murdered Miss Samorn at a guest house on Chang Moi road.
53-year-old Thai national, Phra Chusri from Chonburi province, admitted to the crime but claimed he was high on drugs at the time.
The police also raided his room and seized a motorcycle, a mobile phone (which belonged to the dead woman), and clothes that the suspect wore on the day of the incident.
He also admitted to pretending to be a Vietnamese tourist in order to deceive her.
After meeting her in a bar, they checked into a hotel where he raped and murdered her before stealing her belongings and escaping.
He then rented another room in another guest house to hide himself.
Police used CCTV footage to trace the man to the second guest house.

Phra told the police that he didn’t mean to kill her.
He also confessed to committing similar atrocities on two other woman but they didn’t die. Police believe the other victims didn’t report the crime due to being so ashamed, and expect the number of victims to be more than two.
Phra was also found to be in possession of three types of tranquillisers, which police believe he used with his victims.
Any victims are urged to come forward to help the case and bring this man to justice.
The victim’s relatives and colleagues visited the police station this afternoon and scolded him for what he had done. Some people also tried to hit the man but police stopped them.
