CityNews – 27th March 2020, following the announcement yesterday by Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul of nine doctors who have caught the virus across Thailand, a group of volunteers were inspired to find a solution to help keep medical personnel safe.

Cheodsak Khamkao, one of these volunteers said that he had been contacted by the emergency team at Nakorn Ping Hospital to build a box to protect doctors from contamination. He therefore consulted with a group of friends and have designed this product which emulates many others currently being used around the world. Initially, he said, his group clobbered up some home made protection boxes, but have since contacted a laser business which uses acrylic materials.

Each box costs around 1,000 baht and the group of volunteers have so far delivered 30 boxes to Chiang Mai hospitals. They are also in the process of designing isolation boxes for contaminated patients.

All of these items are donated for free to hospitals.
