With growing concerns of a rise of infections, the Covid Response Centre has announced that as of today the field hospital at the 700 year convention centre will reopen providing 250 beds.
Beds, ventilators and other medical equipment have been set up and doctors and medical personnel recalled and ready, says the centre.
Asymptomatic people who have tested positive will be sent from other hospitals across the province to make room for patients with symptoms. They will begin to move into the hospital tomorrow.
Yesterday there were 17 people who tested positive, while there are currently 73 people remaining in various hospitals in Chiang Mai.
The majority of those who are being tested as positive, says the centre, are people who have come to the province from one of the ten deep red provinces.
