With numbers of newly infected people across Chiang Mai unabating, authorities say that for the first time they have to set up ICU units at the International Convention Hall field hospital, to alleviate pressure on hospitals. These 50 beds will be for ‘red’ and ‘orange’ patients.
To date there have only been 100 beds in Chiang Mai set aside for ‘red’ and ‘orange’ patients, but now there will be a further 50, all overseen by Nakornping Hospital.
There are currently 4,963 people across Chiang Mai in hospital, field hospital, community- and home isolation, with 92 considered ‘red’.
