280 hospital beds ready in Chiang Mai

CityNews – 29th April 2020, it has been 21 consecutive days now with no new reported cases of coronavirus in Chiang Mai.

In spite of this tentative good news, and talks of reopening parts of society, Chiang Mai will follow national guidelines which has set an extra month of curfew and quarantine under the national emergency decree.

When parts of the economy does reopen, it will be decided by sectors and there will be firm guidelines set for operation of businesses such as restaurants, malls, hairdressers, cinemas, and dentists. Groups which will be monitored closely are the young and the old and any other vulnerable group of people.

Chiang Mai province has set aside 280 COVID-19 hospital beds, all of which will be ready by mid-May, for any possible future outbreak.
