A group of 20 nuns are amongst the latest to be confirmed to test positive for Covid-19, said the Covid response centre earlier today.
Over 20 nuns were moved from their meditation centre in Padad to a field hospital today, after testing positive. Some are already showing symptoms of the virus and are being closely monitored as most are elderly.
Today’s 237 new cases bring the total since January in Chiang Mai to 2,819, with 222 people already having returned home.
There was also an outbreak at Wing 41, with 53 people having contracted the virus, with 41 being quarantined at the Wing 41 itself, while the other 19 being in field hospitals or hospitals.
Sankampaeng Hospital also now has an area set aside for a 40 bed field hospital.
