The Chiang Mai Immigration and the Public Health Office raided two houses in Faham yesterday to find a group of Chinese people living there illegally.

At this point authorities are still unsure how the 15 men and 4 women came to be in Chiang Mai, as for ten of them, their passports all had exit stamps from Thailand, but no entry stamps while the other nine didn’t have passports at all.

Initial interviews revealed that they snuck into Thailand through Chiang Rai, before driving down to Chiang Mai.

All are being tested for COVID and will be placed in quarantine.
Police will continue to investigate.
