Thunderstorms Expected in 37 Provinces, Warnings Issued

CityNews – The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation has released a warning to 37 provinces in the north and northeast regions to prepare for more cold weather, strong winds and rainstorms during the first week of February (2nd – 7th February).

During this time, temperatures will drop by 2 – 4 degrees Celsius and thunderstorms will dominate the skies.

Residents have been asked to take care of themselves, especially those living on mountains and other at-risk areas.

People have been advised to take precautions to protect their homes, assets and farm animals from the storm.

Drivers have also been warned about the risk of fog, and are reminded to follow traffic rules and drive slowly in poor visibility or during rain.

Governors of each of the provinces have been assigned to survey the need for clothes and blankets.
