CityNews – A Tai Yai woman riding a motorcycle in Chiang Mai was killed after she was hit by a pickup truck.
On July 9th, police responded to a report of a road accident in Hang Dong. When they arrived on the scene, they found a pickup truck which had crashed into the woods along the roadside, and a body stuck under the car. The body was later identified as a 39 year old Thai Yai woman.
The pickup driver, Suchart Pipatsit, 47, told police that he left Mae Hong Son early in the morning to see a doctor in Chiang Mai. He admitted that he dozed while driving, eventually crashing into the motorcycle, dragging the woman along into the woods on the roadside before colliding with a tree.
A legal case is now under investigation.
