Summer Storms Hit Chiang Mai

CityNews – New summer storms hit many areas in Chiang Mai last night, with Sansai and Doi Saket districts heavily affected by cyclones and heavy rain.

Many homes in the two areas were damaged.

Most damages were to the roofs of homes which were blown away. Doors and windows were also damaged.

Over 20 houses in Regent Village 1 on the Chiang Mai – Chiang Rai road were damaged, and the storm also toppled big trees and electric poles causing power cuts across the area.

Local authorities have aided residents in moving fallen trees and electric poles, and will begin a survey of all damages today.

According to the Thai Meteorological Department, between now and May 11, the north will experience more thunderstorms, cyclones and heavy rain.
