Songkran Accident Simulations Held To Keep People Safe Around the Moat

CityNews – On April 1, Tassanai Buranupakorn, Mayor of Chiang Mai, joined with the Fire and Rescue Department to give information to the public regarding being safe and escaping LPG fires in cars during Songkran.

Many locals and institutions joined the event which had practice simulations for people to join in with.

One simulation was to rescue somebody from a car fire caused by an LPG gas tank explosion and another was to rescue people from a car that had crashed into the moat.

Tassanai also added that police and army will be checking shops and bars around the moat, ensuring the sale of alcohol remains prohibited.

Doctors, nurses and resuce teams will also be stationed around the moat to be on hand if any accidents do occur.
