On April 3, Sasawan Panya, the head of Chaiprakarn Police and other departments, took part in an emergency rescue practice simulation in preparation for the increase of road traffic accidents during the Songkran period.

The practice, held on Road 107, simulated a road accident with 10 injured people, both critically injured and with minor injuries.

The simulation involved a ‘good citizen’ calling the emergency services, and fire, police and rescue services attending the ‘accident’ and resolving the situation.

The simulation was successful and response times were good, according to Sasawan.

Another practice was also conducted, this time with a gas tanker explosion.

Sasawan also said that during the Songkran holiday, many more accidents occur, and he asked everybody to be socially responsible not drink and drive.
