CityNews – September 2, at around 12.30am, police inspected pubs and bars around Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, and in other designated areas.
Every pub and bar was found closed as time set. The pubs and bars near educational institutions were also found to not be selling alcohol after the National Council for Peace and Order’s command that no store may sell alcohol near to an educational institution.
It was also reported that five Chiang Mai police have been moved office after it was found that they ignored pubs and bars that were not closed at the set time.
According to Chiang Mai Governor Suriya Prasatbandit, five pubs and bars were ordered to close down as they were open after hours and/or were selling alcohol to underage patrons.
