CityNews – It has been reported that a there have been frequent shoe thefts at Wat Phra Singh over the past few months.
The temple’s CCTV cameras, of which there are over 50, caught a man, approximately 35, who had covered his face, stealing expensive shoes from tourists visiting the temple. A woman and an elderly man have also been caught on CCTV, bringing in flip flops and exchanging them for expensive shoes. Authorities urge guides to warn their visitors that if anyone has expensive shoes, it is best to take a small bag to put them in, lest these thieving shoe snatchers take advantage.
