Municipality Plans to Bury Power Cables

CityNews – Chiang Mai municipality is working on burying wires underground.

On March 6th, the deputy mayor of Chiang Mai municipality revealed a new collaborative project to move electrical wires underground. This project will be implemented in conjuncture with the electricity authority and various cables and communication companies. Starting today, Papokklao Road will be the pilot road where some wires have already been removed from the utility poles. The deputy mayor added by May 15th, all wires along the road will have been removed with the aim to improve the sights of the city for tourism. The municipality reportedly plans to implement the underground wiring on all roads around the moat within this couple of years.
