CityNews – A father suffering from severe stress shot his daughter before turning the gun on himself. Locals managed to rush the daughter to hospital but the father died at the scene.
On May 23rd, 50-year-old father, Wankuen Suksawatmanasperm shot his 22-year-old daughter, hitting her in the arm, while she was riding a motorbike to work. Wankuen shot her from the second floor window of his home in Ban Tab, Mae Chaem.
The daughters injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
He then turned to gun on himself and committed suicide.
Locals rushed to the scene and called an ambulance for the daughter and discovered the father dead in his home.
When police investigated the scene, there was no sign of struggle between the two involved. After listening to eyewitness reports and after talking to the mother, they believe the attack and suicide was due to the severe stress that Wankuen was suffering from at the time.
