CityNews – High speed crash wrecked a lychee-carrying truck.
The incident occurred on the evening of July 1st near Ban Mae Na School in Chiang Dao. A pickup truck was found overturned with crates of lychees scattered across the road. The driver who had to be rescued from the vehicle suffered severe injuries. The police stated that the impact was so strong that the air bag exploded.
The truck, travelling to Chiang Mai from Bangkok, was seen moving at high speed by witnesses prior to the crash. Police suspect that the driver might have dozed off while driving.
