CityNews – Local longan farmers, who last week protested against a solar farm in the village in fear it may reduce their crop yield, have visited City Hall again this week, with new claims to prevent further construction due to trucks making their village too busy, kicking up dust.

On May 13, the villagers complained to the Chiang Mai Governor that the solar farm would affect their crop yield and requested the construction stop. This request was not fulfilled.

This week, the villagers, represented by 63-year-old Kongkam Boonthima, said that the construction work was disrupting their life in the village, and were worried that the solar factory would affect their farms and the surrounding environment. They were also worred people may become sick due to agricultural land damage.

They also added that there was not enough community feedback opportunities before the construction began.
