CityNews – On the evening of May 15th, Lamphun police received information that two people had died in the Umong sub-district of Lamphun.
At the scene, police found 65-year-old Jinda Chaiprom dead in her bedroom. She was lying on the floor faced down and was discovered to have had bruises on her neck, indicating strangulation as the likely cause of death. Not far from the body, police found 67-year-old Boonyeun Kepcharoen hanging from the ceiling with an electric wire. Both had been deceased for 10 hours before the police found them.
From the preliminary investigation, it appears Jinda lived at home alone because she was divorced from her husband, though she still saw him periodically because they had children.
Boonyeun reportedly had no family but was in a relationship with Jinda for over a year. Police speculate that the murder occurred because Boonyeun was in a jealous rage after Jinda said she wanted to end the relationship. Police suspect that Boonyueun murdered Jinda in a jealous rage and then hanged himself.
