CityNews – Five villages were destroyed after a flash flood from the Mae Moot waterway broke through defenses.
During the early morning of June 30, a flash flood destroyed a total of 30 houses and two bridges, the Mae Moot Bridge and the Mae Yuak Bridge, throughout five villages in the Mae Wang district.
Electrical items, household appliances, bikes and cars were destroyed by the flood.
Local people rushed to save their property and nobody was killed or injured as a result of the flooding.
The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office in Chiang Mai said that the situation was safe now, but have placed 2 officials in each village to further observe the situation.
