CityNews – Famous Facebook pages like Mham Po Dam and Kod How V.4 which have large followings and often expose news stories or scandals, have today published reports about a LINE account that allegedly provides fake academic certificates for customers.
The LINE account claims to be able to replicate certificates from a range of academic institutions for 7,000 baht per certificate.
Chiang Mai Rajabhat University is one of the institutions listed.
On June 1st, the university released a statement regarding the claims, confirming that the university is not involved with the scammer in any way, and any holders of fake certificates will not have their name and ID numbers registered on their system. They also claimed that this type of forgery has been around for over 10 years and the board of directors are looking into the matter.
The owner of the LINE account has yet to be identified.
