CityNews – An elderly man died in a hit and run on Chiang Mai-Maejo Road today.
On July 10th, police responded to a report of a road accident on Chiang Mai-Maejo Road, Nong Jom, San Sai. At the scene, police found the body of a 67 year man in the middle of the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation revealed that the elderly motorcycle driver was hit by a truck who then fled the scene. Evidence shows that the truck was driving at high speed and tried to overtake the motorcycle when they crashed. The bike driver was killed in the crash and the truck fled the scene without stopping.
Police are now searching for the truck driver.
Last week, a Singaporean cyclist died in a hit and run crash with a truck in Hang Dong.
