CityNews – Drugs valued over a billion baht seized.

On February 11th, Provincial Police Region 5 accompanied the DEA Office Region 5, military officers and authorities on a drug bust. The bust was a result of an arrest in Songkhla earlier in January which revealed to police that drugs would be transported via Nim See Seng Transport.

According to the report, the suspect, Suchat Tienpana, a 56 year old man arrived at Nim See Seng Transport in Fa Ham with a fake license plated pick-up truck on the evening of 10th February and delivered numerous boxes that appeared to be syrup-preserved fruits. The boxes reportedly contained 560 kg of ice and 708,000 pills of yaba with the total street value of at least a billion baht. The suspect was arrested immediately. He confessed that this was his fourth job, each time he was paid 200,000 baht and the drugs were from neighbouring countries to be delivered down south.
