Chiang Mai’s Public Parks Celebrated in Urban Forest Event

CityNews – The opening ceremony of “Urban Forest”, an event to promote the green spaces in Chaing Mai was held by General Surasak Karnjanarat, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, at the Huay Kaew Arboretum on 10 February, 2018.

The event celebrates the green spaces and included activities such as cycling through the city, plant and insect exhibitions and a photo competition.

Three other parks in the city were also featured in the event, including Northern Thai Literary Botanical Garden, Doi Suthep Nature and Wildlife Education Center and the National Guards Unit of Suthep-Pui.

This project follows the policy of the government and minister of natural resources and environment to make parks, botanical gardens, and arboretums accessible to all people in the community, and use them as a source to learn about nature and a place to relax.
