CityNews – On November 18, the bottom part of an escalator in the domestic flight wing collapsed just as a group of passengers were stepping on it.
There was a loud noise and the passengers quickly stepped off the escalator as it collapsed. There were unhurt. The base of the escalator broke open and staff rushed to turn off the motor.
On the same day, Squadron Leader Monthnik Rakngam, General Manager of Chiang Mai International Airport has made an announcement to apologise for the incident. Fixing the escalator is top priority.
