430 Cases of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease Reported

CityNews – Chiang Mai Provincial Public Health Office have reported that there have been 430 confirmed cases of Hand, Foot and Mouth disease, advising a state of caution among citizens.

Currently, 430 cases of the disease have been confirmed, mostly in the Muang Chiang Mai district, San Pa Tong district and Saraphi district.

Most patients are aged 5 or under.

The Hand, Foot and Mouth disease often appears in times of humid weather around this time of the year. Most patients are infected by sharing a glass of water or touching contaminated toys. Symptoms include fever, headaches, nausea and aching but are often missed as they are minor symptoms. Other identifiers include blotchy rashes on the hands and feet.

Recovery usually takes 7 to 10 days, but if you suspect you or someone you know may have the disease, visit the doctors immediately.
