CityNews – The foreign driver of a super bike that hit a three year old out of a pram last week has been found and arrested following a dedicated police hunt.

A three year old was hit out of it’s buggy as the child’s parents were crossing the road at the Sripoom corner of the moat on February 22.

After the child was rushed to hospital and the police reported the incident to the police, authorities spent just 24 hours to identify the driver of the super bike and arrest him.

Canadian Markus Christopher, a teacher in Chiang Mai was identified by CCTV provided by a hotel on the Sripoom corner.

Christopher told police that he knew he hit the pram but said it was because he swerved out of the way of a songtaew which suddenly stopped and cut him off.

He told police he fled the scene because he was scared.

The three year old baby is in hospital with a swollen brain, broken legs and bruised all over.

A representative from the Canadian embassy is in contact with authorities and managing the case for the accused. Police are currently trying to determine whether the driver was drinking at the time, which they say may be a reason why he fled the scene.
