Aum ka Tong Vintage Barn
We know that Thai people love the cowboy Wild West look and this new restaurant takes it to a whole ‘nother level. Set in an old rice barn, the walls are adorned with posters and paintings depicting the west…and whatever else tickles the owners’ fancy. A Marilyn Monroe poster will be next to a superman in a London phone box; a Colonel Sanders stands proud near a framed photo of a monk. Eclectic would be a good word. Fun would be another.
Décor aside, the food is solid and varied. Check out the Chinese style shrimp roll with sweet sauce or the popular dish of fish head sweet and sour soup with taro which brings out the tastes and flavours of the fish.
This is a fun venue to go with a group of friends. It is quintessentially Thai country style with live bands singing golden oldies, a solid and tasty menu and atmosphere to spare.
