The owner of Dairy Boutique Yoghurts

take Spoon&Fork to Khao Soi Vieng Ping

The owner of Dairy Boutique Yoghurts, Suwapa ‘Nuch’ Jitman, has been going to the 50 year old Khao Soy Vieng Ping since she was a schoolgirl, as it was near her afterschool tutorial and the restaurant belonged to a friend’s family. So when she married Dr. Andreas Zins, with whom she cofounded her yoghurt company, she took him there and he too promptly fell in love.

“The khao soy here is not too spicy, which was good for children, and now good for my husband,” said Nuch. “So every time Andreas comes back to Thailand, or each time I return from abroad, this is where we both go to first. The chicken pieces are bite-sized and come off the bone and without skin or fat and the ingredients are homemade and the restaurant very clean.”
Other recommended dishes include crispy pork in sauce over rice, barbecued red pork, egg noodle soup with red roast pork and noodle dishes.
