Tom Kaew restaurant

This month the General Manager of Comedara Restaurant, Pimprapai Wongtada or Khun Noi, invited us to taste traditional-style khanom jeen and som tum (papaya salad) at Tom Kaew restaurant, an old and well-known establishment situated in the Wat Ku Tao area. Khun Noi explained that she has been a regular customer for over ten years because of the food’s authentic taste and the friendliness of the owner. Her favourite dishes include corn som tum, mango som tum, and kao ngeaw—a traditional Northern dish of rice steamed with pork blood. The restaurant’s signature dish, Nam ngeaw noodle, is adapted from the owners’ family recipe. For dessert, be sure to try the Thai melon lodchong and the banana in coconut milk.
