KHAO by Four Seasons

The splendid KHAO restaurant at Four Seasons Resort opened to great fanfare last month, promising to become the city’s premier Thai fine dining restaurant, with its sweeping views of the majestic resort and menu which is rooted in tradition, yet bursting with flair and creativity.

Selecting the best of local ingredients, the chefs have designed a menu which honours the food of the region, whether it is Thai, Lanna, Yunnanese or Burmese. Start the meal with a selection of light dishes including the flavourful wing bean salad with chili lime-fresh coconut dressing and river prawns, the organic Khao Yai minced chicken, shrimp paste and spices served with garden relish and the king fish, lemongrass, bet and bay leaves, pomelo and tomato berries. Or better yet, go Thai style and get everything on the table at once for a perfect sharing meal experience. Other dishes we highly recommend include the Doi Inthanon sturgeon fish with turmeric paste curry, galangal, granny smith apple and seaweed caviar, the wok-fried chayote with fermented pork and cherry tomatoes; and the smoky sour soup roasted pork leg with tamarind and fried garlic. Flavours are rich and bold, yet also subtle when warranted and when paired with fine wines or a refreshing cocktail, well….enjoy your feast.
