Flight of the Gibbon Temporarily Closed Down after Fatal Accident

CityNews – Flight of the Gibbon has been temporarily closed down after a fatal accident.

On Saturday 13th, a 25 year old Spencer Charles from Canada plunged to his death at the famous zipline Flight of the Gibbon in Mae On. The man who reportedly weighed 125 kg fell from a 12 metre height when the cable was disconnected. The governor of Chiang Mai Supachai Iamsuwan revealed that the company has been assisting in taking care of the family of the deceased while they are in Thailand and is taking full responsibility. Flight of the Gibbon has been temporarily closed with no reopening date confirmed yet. The governor has ordered a detailed inspection of all 15 zip line companies in Chiang Mai by local district offices and will be holding a future meeting with stakeholders to discuss findings.

The body has been sent to Maharaj Hospital awaiting funeral service. The case is being investigated by tourist police.
