CityNews – 5th March 2020, animal lovers all over Thailand are outraged over a story of what appears to be a serial animal abuser.
Today Chiang Mai police told the media that three victims have come forward to complain about Waitaya Kadpab who has allegedly been abusing cats.
According to police three people have told police that they, separately, posted on social media that they needed homes for stray cats they found. In each case, Waitaya had responded saying that he would like to adopt the cats.
According to police, Waitaya ended up torturing and then killing the cats. One victim, Wasana Chailangka, 39, said that she found a stray cat and posted that it needed ahome. So on the 26th February she handed over the cat to Waitaya who said that he would take great care of it. However, she then discovered through an online site that the man was a known abuser and murderer of animals. She then asked him how the cat was and asking whether she could have it back. She was fobbed off numerous times before he told her that it was dead.
According to Watchdog Thailand, this man has been accused of similar incidents many times before and is in the process of going to court – maximum two years in jail and 40,000 baht fine. He has maintained his innocence, saying that these cats were untrained and difficult and uncontrollable and he had to use violence to keep them orderly.
